Yes, you have a very good point here but I think website traffic comes first. You don't actually call the first time you visit a site, if you are interested in something you'll research more information about it and then you call. Your idea is brilliant but just for some businesses.

A heavily visited site can win some money out of Google's Adwords for impressions. Others can go for pay-per-click if they have something interesting to advertise. My idea of a good ad campaign is combining the two.

I agree just traffic is not enough, I have spent 100s of $$ on google adwords and my analytics shows good traffic but I just dont have any sales happening on my site.
